Jesus sometimes withdrew from the demands of His ministry to rest and pray. We too should take a break from our work. Life today can be very stressful and God can get squeezed out. Bethany aims to ease this burden by enabling Christian workers to withdraw for a while and get things back into perspective. It is a welcoming place where they can rest, relax and sense God's presence.

Set on a hill in attractive grounds overlooking the Sea, Bethany's location is idyllic - five minutes to sandy beaches, peaceful walks around rocky coves and yet the town with its restaurants and shops is just nearby. Even the ferry ride to the island helps in the winding down process, as the pressure of the city is replaced by a small and friendly island with no cars, pollution or constant noise.

Our guests include Christians from all denominations and countries who are full time workers, as well as Christians in secular jobs. Bethany has sole discretion on who we will accept as a guest at Bethany Ministries.

The Bethany complex consists of four single storey buildings, surrounded by flowers, shrubs and trees, sitting areas and children's play facilities. Guestrooms are air-conditioned and well equipped. Most rooms have their own bathrooms.

Each building has its own sitting and dining room. Breakfast is provided each day and an evening meal is shared every day except Sunday. Mainly Western-style food is served. Soft drinks, ice creams and snacks may be purchased in each building. Other facilities include washing machines and driers, A library of books, tapes, CDs and DVDs, videos, toys, puzzles and games are also available.

Staff are on hand to meet the needs of our guests. We are committed to help with practical details and we are also here to listen and pray with you if you need us - see 'Pastoral Care'. Some just come to be quiet and still - we respect that too. If you want a particularly quiet time ask if there is space in "Bethany Cottage".
